Concept/Acronym | Description |

Product Development | Is a process of building a product, from the ideation stage to the product commercialization. Different authors propose different stages for the product development process, however, it usually includes ideation, research, product design, prototype, testing, commercialization. |
Product Discovery | Is a process that is part of the product development process, however it includes only stages related to creation and research (ideation, screening, and research of ideas). |
Ideation | Is one of the product discovery stages whose main focus is based on the creation of new ideas. New ideas can come from different sources, in this template ideation techniques can come from employees or customers (VoC). |
Screening | Is one of the product discovery stages which comes after the ideation stage. It focuses on screening ideas and proving their feasibility taking into account the company’s goals and other criteria. |
Research | Is one of the product discovery stages which comes after the screening stage. It focuses on researching ideas and proving their feasibility on a deeper level, taking into account the company’s resources and technical issues. At the end of this stage, the analyst should decide if continue with the development of ideas or not. |
Internal Team Ideation Techniques | Ideation techniques that can be developed in the company in which the main participant are employees from one or different departments. |
Voice of Customer / VoC | Is a term that describes the customer’s feedback about experiences with and expectations related to your products or services. Some ideation techniques are based on VoC, for instance, Focus Groups or Customer Visits. |
